Kitchen Refresh
Typical Investment: $12,500–$22,500
A kitchen refresh is intended for homeowners who want to update the appearance and functionality of their kitchen without completely removing the existing layout.
A typical kitchen refresh may include painting or refinishing existing cabinets, installing new cabinet hardware, replacing countertops, installing a tile backsplash, replacing the sink and faucet, updating lighting fixtures, completing minor drywall repairs, painting, cleanup, and removal of debris from the work performed.
This range assumes that the existing cabinet boxes, plumbing locations, electrical layout, flooring, and overall kitchen configuration will remain substantially unchanged.
Cabinet replacement, major electrical or plumbing modifications, flooring replacement, wall removal, structural work, appliances, and concealed damage are not included unless specifically stated in the estimate.
Standard Kitchen Remodel
Typical Investment: $28,000–$50,000
A standard kitchen remodel typically includes demolition of the existing kitchen finishes, installation of new stock or semi-custom cabinets, new countertops, a kitchen sink and faucet, tile backsplash, updated lighting, minor electrical and plumbing modifications, drywall repairs, painting, trim work, cleanup, and removal of debris from the work performed.
Flooring replacement and appliance installation may also be included when specifically listed in the estimate.
This range is based on an average-size kitchen with the sink, major appliances, walls, and general kitchen layout remaining in approximately their existing locations.
Larger kitchens, premium cabinetry, extensive electrical work, plumbing relocation, structural repairs, upgraded flooring, premium countertops, specialty tile, and concealed water or termite damage may increase the final investment.
Appliances are not included unless specifically stated in the estimate.
Full Custom Kitchen Remodel
Typical Investment: $50,000–$85,000+
A full custom kitchen remodel may include complete demolition, a redesigned kitchen layout, custom or upgraded semi-custom cabinetry, premium countertops, a new island or peninsula, flooring, tile backsplash, lighting, additional receptacles, plumbing modifications, appliance connections, drywall, trim, painting, cleanup, and removal of debris from the work performed.
Projects involving the removal or relocation of walls, structural modifications, major plumbing or electrical relocation, gas-line work, enlarged openings, custom cabinetry, built-in appliances, premium finishes, and extensive design changes generally fall within the middle or upper portion of this range.
Large kitchens, luxury materials, structural engineering, custom millwork, professional-grade appliances, and significant changes to the kitchen footprint may exceed the listed range.
Appliances are not included unless specifically stated in the estimate.
Kitchen Remodeling Pricing Information
These ranges are intended to help homeowners establish a realistic preliminary budget before scheduling an estimate.
Final pricing is determined after evaluating the kitchen size, existing conditions, cabinet layout, selected materials, countertop dimensions, requested features, appliance requirements, accessibility, and the amount of plumbing, electrical, structural, and finish work required.
Material allowances will be clearly identified in the estimate. Selections exceeding the stated allowances will be billed as an additional cost. Any unused portion of an allowance will be forfeited unless otherwise stated in the agreement.
Keeping the existing layout and plumbing locations will generally reduce the total investment. Moving walls, sinks, appliances, electrical circuits, plumbing lines, gas lines, or ventilation systems will increase the price.
All final scopes and pricing are subject to an onsite evaluation and written estimate.
