Standard Shower Replacement
Typical Investment: $6,500–$11,500
Replace an existing standard tub-and-shower combination or shower with a new low-maintenance tub, shower base, or wall-panel system.
Typical pricing includes removal of the existing unit, preparation of the opening, standard plumbing connections, a new tub or shower base, wall panels, a standard valve and fixture allowance, necessary trim, sealing, cleanup, and removal of debris from the work performed.
This range assumes the new unit will remain within the existing footprint and that the plumbing is in serviceable condition. Premium wall systems, glass enclosures, plumbing relocation, structural repairs, code upgrades, and concealed water or termite damage may increase the final investment.
Custom Tile Shower Installation
Typical Investment: $12,500–$23,500
A custom tile shower typically includes demolition of the existing tub or shower, preparation of the shower opening, installation of a professional waterproofing system, construction of the shower base and curb, installation of wall and floor tile, standard tile and fixture allowances, plumbing connections, grout, sealant, trim, cleanup, and removal of debris from the work performed.
Pricing is based on a standard-size shower with the existing plumbing remaining in approximately the same location. Larger showers, specialty tile patterns, niches, benches, curbless entrances, linear drains, plumbing relocation, premium fixtures, glass enclosures, and repairs discovered after demolition may increase the final investment.
Glass shower doors or enclosures are not included unless specifically stated in the estimate.
Full Bathroom Remodel
Typical Investment: $16,500–$35,000+
A full bathroom remodel may include demolition, installation of a new tub or shower, vanity and countertop, toilet, flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting, ventilation, drywall repairs, trim, painting, cleanup, and removal of debris from the work performed.
Standard hall bathrooms with the existing layout and a standard tub or wall-panel system generally fall toward the lower portion of this range. Bathrooms that include a custom tile shower, larger vanity, extensive tile work, premium fixtures, or additional electrical and plumbing work generally fall toward the middle or upper portion of the range.
Larger primary bathrooms, layout changes, custom cabinetry, freestanding tubs, multiple plumbing fixtures, extensive electrical or plumbing modifications, structural work, and concealed water or termite damage may exceed the listed range.
Pricing Information
These ranges are intended to help homeowners establish a realistic preliminary budget before scheduling an estimate.
Final pricing is determined after evaluating the existing conditions, project dimensions, selected materials, requested features, accessibility, plumbing and electrical requirements, and the complete scope of work.
Material allowances will be clearly identified in the estimate. Selections exceeding the stated allowances will be billed as an additional cost. Any unused portion of an allowance will be forfeited unless otherwise stated in the agreement.
